Study of Charging Infrastructure Expansion for Electric Vehicles
Main Article Content
Abstract
With electric vehicles (EVs) playing a vital role in lowering greenhouse gas emissions and dependency on fossil fuels, the electrification of transport marks a critical shift towards sustainable mobility. This transition is a significant step towards achieving sustainable mobility. The widespread acceptance of electric vehicles, on the other hand, is dependent upon the provision of a robust charging infrastructure network that is capable of satisfying the requirements of drivers and facilitating the smooth integration of those vehicles into everyday life. With a particular emphasis on eliminating significant bottlenecks and expediting deployment efforts, this research study investigates the potential and problems that are involved with the growth of charging infrastructure for electric cars. The present condition of the infrastructure for charging electric vehicles is evaluated, with a focus on the inequalities in accessibility that exist between urban and rural locations, as well as the constraints of the charging technologies and networks that are now prevalent. The obstacles that stand in the way of development are identified and put through a comprehensive analysis. These obstacles include high upfront expenditures, regulatory difficulties, and grid capacity limits. As prospective avenues for solving these issues and optimising the effectiveness of charging infrastructure, technological advancements and solutions, including as smart charging systems and battery swapping technologies, are being investigated as viable options.
